Product Description
The iconic modern classic in pendant lights, the Artichoke, was designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen (who went by the initials PH) for Louis Poulsen.
The original PH Artichokes were developed for a restaurant in Copenhagen called the Langelinie Pavilion, and they are still hanging there today.
Designed to allow viewing the fixture from any angle without the light source being visible the Artichoke provides a 360-degree glare free illumination.
The structure is made of twelve steel arches. On this structure PH placed 72 copper “leaves” in twelve circular rows with six blades in each row. Because each row is staggered from the previous the design allows viewing the fixture from any angle without being able to see the light source located in the center of the PH Artichoke.
The brand Louis Poulsen is synonymous with innovation, quality and vision.
The Louis Poulsen pendant lights are no exception. Cherished as modern design classics, these aware winning designs fit comfortably into contemporary as well as more traditional homes, adding their distinct presence.
